Car windows cracked, coast crawling by
Salt hangs in the hair, sky stretching high
Bags thrown in the back, sundrenched and slack
Sidewalks skip by in the rearview, but I hold tight
Your laughter spills on the shoulder of the road
Famished for a feeling, something only we know
Weaving through thunder, car lights painting the lines
Blue, red, white chasing time
With you, I’m wild—wind through an open mind
Lifted by longing, so close to the sky
Ocean breeze spinning inside me

Cherries in paper bags, sweet summer stains
Peaches and apples, pulp and remains
Clouds break above us, humming with rain
Maps crumpled in cupholders, driving again
Planes kiss the horizon, trains fade from view
