Hands in the dirt, picking up what aches still grows
Laugh, then it hurts, this is how it’s always been
Sun comes, then a storm rolls over again

Time don’t wait, it don’t explain

Touch my neck, feel the strain
Side by side, we burn up, we freeze
Blood on the bone, but the river won’t cease
Crash into day, I kiss what I can’t hold

Trying to say what it is but the words just slip
